On
November 2nd, 2002 my wife and I visited her brother in Ecuador,
South America. On November 3rd, our first full day there, a volcano
erupted, blanketing the capital city, Quito, and its surrounding
area with over 200 million tons of ash. Although the country was
in a state of emergency and things were far from normal, we made
the most of our once in a lifetime experience.
